Look at her grow!

Yup. You read that right. It's a girl!

I'll spare you the proof, since it's pretty hard to see. Just believe me that there's nothing there that we saw on Luke's first pictures. I will share some pretty cool pictures of Baby Girl, though.

Here's a good profile. Can you see the lines above her head? Those are her feet - she is folded in half! The technician kept saying she was a little gymnast.

In this picture you can see her little fists above her head and under her chin.

She was very active during the sonogram and it was fun to watch all the movement. It took a while, though, because she didn't want to move the right ways to get good pictures. The technician had to keep pounding on my belly to get the baby to move - thankfully she had let me go to the bathroom after she took the first few measurements! All the measurements were normal (the head too!) and everything important was there (heart, kidneys, hands, feet, etc). Sometimes I wonder how in the heck they can see all of that in the blurs and blobs, but I guess that's what they go to school for (and we pay them the big bucks for!).

Dr. Kramer told me that he only wanted to know my fasting number once a week so I'm down to one finger prick a week from 28. He also said he doesn't want me to stay on the diet - he wants to know how my body is really working. If the fasting numbers are too high, I'll just start it up again. Plus (and this is the really good news) he said I won't have to take the 3-hour test again! Apparently they are going away from this test because it's not really that accurate anyway.

Good news all around. I like doctor's visits like this one!

So happy for you - gender's not that important when you start seeing that sweet profile and those tiny hands - but having a girl just makes it extra special!!

YAY! Congratulations! I love her first pictures. Any ideas on names?

Tink - yes, we have some ideas. We're keeping them secret though, in case they change - and because there has to be SOME surprise. You can call her Mini Tink for now, if you like. ;)

How exciting! I love the pictures. She is already a star. I wish we lived closer so I could rub my belly on yours and get some girl vibes from you. (I know, that sounds kind of intimate, but I really want a girl.)

So what else did you learn from the perinatologist?
