Constant Stream of Chatter

Luke has logorrhea. It's bad. Sometimes I feel like doing what my Great-Uncle Elmer used to do when his daughter talked incessantly at him and wanted responses. He would periodically say, "Fortem, fortem," his made-up word to make her think he was still listening. But if I did that, I would miss these gems:

(while looking at a billboard near our house) "Hey! It's a Geico!" (of course he meant gecko, but those advertising guys are geniuses)

(while in stop-and-go traffic) "Mom, go fast!"

(and then when I told him we were at a red light) "Red means stop. Yellow means be careful. Green means go. You are driving. I want to drive. When I'm 15 I'll drive too.

(interrupting Alec & I talking when he got home last night) "Hey guys!" {grin}

He also is very good at telling me when he does things we're practicing. "Mom! I covered my mouth!" or "Mom! I leaned over!" Yeah, yeah, good for you FOR THE 257TH TIME.

He's exhausting sometimes, but things sure would be dull around here without him!

Hey! I remember this stuff! Luke has an aunt who was like that; had to tell her in church that I was there for the pastor, not to listen to her. I think she thought she got paid by the word...she would have been a millionaire by the age of 7 if that was true. Uh-huh, mmmhhmm, Fordum!
