Well, hello there!

Yes, I realize it's been almost a month since my last post. I've been pretty busy and haven't had much time for blogging. Here are some pictures and highlights.

First, Luke went through a little phase of fort building, except he called it a porch and didn't really grasp the whole idea of fort-building. Mostly he just thought it was cool that I let him play with the couch cushions.

In this picture, he took out the couch cushions, put all the pillows from the chairs and couch underneath and then used the couch cushions as his desk. It was pretty cute, until I saw this:

Every. Single. Book. Off the bookcase shelves, piled high in one of the wing-back chairs. Guess who got to put them all back? Ah, well. He wasn't bugging me to watch TV.

Erin turned 6 months yesterday. She has been eating solids for about a month now and the whole solid-food poop thing is disgusting. I'd rather have the yellow poops of a newborn - they stink less. BUT, she loves to eat and finishes everything, even when it's obvious she doesn't care for it. She doesn't spit food out, although lately she has started blowing raspberries while I'm trying to feed her, resulting in a nice spray of pureed food. One day she sneezed just as I deposited a mouthful of peaches - lovely. So far her list of foods includes peaches, pears, bananas, apples, sweet potatoes, summer squash, butternut squash, carrots, peas, green beans, oatmeal and the wonderful prune juice (seriously - it's wonderful).

She also started sitting on her own (mostly) this week. She rarely tips over, but I put pillows around her just in case. She loves being able to sit and play with different toys.

Luke couldn't resist in that last one and plowed right through her little toy setup. Thankfully she just sort of leaned over and caught herself with her hands.

That's all for now. I'm tired and Erin is no longer sleeping through the night. Aack.

Does this mean she's rolling over both ways now! She's so big -- amazing what a month really does for a baby. Love the pictures!

Thanks so much for new pictures. I'm not complaining, but I was getting anxious and new pictures are such a gift! I can't believe how much older Erin looks now that she's sitting up. And the little boy on the "porch" is just too precious.
