Alright, already!

She-who-generally-posts-once-a-month and She-who-calls-me-names have been hinting/bugging me that I haven't posted lately. I've been a little pre-occupied, people!

The sisters, Emily and Beth (who, by the way, also haven't posted in eons), were here for a visit last week. It was very nice. Got my hair cut (a lot). Saw Emily's pictures of Germany. Marveled at how fast Beth can text message. Went to the Spy Museum. Generally had a good time. Unfortunately, I have no pictures. The aunties took so many good ones, I figured I'd just get copies. So you'll have to wait.

This week I am finally starting to feel better. Six long weeks of constant nausea is at last coming to its end. I am grateful that it was not 20 like another friend of mine had with her second. Last Monday I had a sonogram and everything looked fine. They put my due date at March 17 - no, we'll not name any boys Patrick.

I know it doesn't look like much but a bean, but that's "it." The little whitish spot on the right is the heart. I saw it beating.

This Monday I had my first "real" doctor's appointment (I don't count the first one because they didn't do anything - I didn't even pee in a cup!). I heard the heartbeat. The doctor put the due date at March 16 (so take your pick). I have to go back on Friday for some blood work. They were going to do it Monday, but decided that I should have the glucose test right away and you need to prepare for that. So I have that lovely bottle of orange "juice" in my fridge waiting for me. The doctor also told me to start my diabetic diet right now, just to be proactive since it's likely I'll have it again (I'm wondering if the sugar strip they put in my pee sample was off the chart and they just didn't tell me). I'm hungry already, but at least I don't have to stick my finger 4 times a day yet.

Hmm, what else happened?

My friend had a baby yesterday. She had to have a C-section when the fetal monitor showed the baby in distress. Turned out he had the cord wrapped around his neck. Love those fetal monitors!

School started this week. Yesterday I was walking with Luke in the morning and a mom was yelling at her kids to get in the car. She said to me as we passed, "wait until he's bigger!" Like I'll have to yell at my perfect angel. As if! Pff!

The perfect angel can identify the capital letter D. He's a genius, I tell ya. He also stuck his hand in poop as I was changing him yesterday, so maybe Harvard won't be knocking on our door any time soon.

That's all I can think of for now. Here's a bone for you from the archives since I don't have any new ones. He was learning to blow bubbles in the tub.

Congrats and glad you posted, I was wondering where you have been. Hanging out with sisters is the best!

Congrats on the gummy bear! So if you'll not name him Patrick (assuming it's a boy) what will you name him?

I love the tushie shot. So cute.

I love immediate gratification! Glad to be following your pregnancy!

Well, Tink, wouldn't you like to know? Like we did with Luke, we'll not tell until he/she comes! You'll have to be patient.

Maybe you could auction off naming rights on eBay?

Just a quick comment, I thought it funny that they have to put 'Baby' underneath the sonogram. Just in case you forgot you were pregnant. Can't wait to hear more about the new nephew/neice!

I'm getting to posting--I tried the other day and it kept booting me off. But I do have some cute pictures to put up...

Yeah, Bob, I thought the same thing. It's like when we went to see if Luke was a boy or girl and they put an arrow to his little man-part with "boy" - duh. I hope I never have a girl with 3 legs. I guess some people do have trouble seeing it, though.
